The Best Restaurants for Large Groups in South Beach

There are plenty of restaurants in South Beach where you can enjoy a delicious meal, but not all of them are ready to take large groups of people. Choosing the right restaurant is a very important decision; you want to ensure that all parties are comfortable, that you are actually able to talk with the people involved, and of course that the food is good. Choosing the wrong place might lead to stress and discomfort, or even leave you, or one in your party, hungry. To help you make the best decision, we will share with you our top two:

15th & Vine Kitchen And Bar

Our first choice is always 15th & Vine Kitchen And Bar, the premier downtown restaurant of Viceroy Miami, 15 floors above bustling Brickwell Avenue, that offers a unique blend of Latin, Asia & Italian flavors. It’s a vibrant cultural experience reflective of the cultural tapestry of Miami, making it a place suitable for everybody’s palate. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the 300-foot Icon swimming pool and Biscayne Bay. And, most importantly, it provides an engaging yet intimate atmosphere, making your meal more enjoyable, even with a large group of people. There is an intimate 10-person dining room that is available for more exclusive dining experiences, with an outdoor terrace that offers open-air seating. 15th & Vine Kitchen And Bar offers breakfast and lunch from Friday to Sunday, brunch on weekends, and diner from Sunday to Thursday, and Friday to Saturday, making it a very complete restaurant. You can join Happy Hour every weekday from 6 to 8 PM. Plus, you can enjoy live music on Wednesday nights and a DJ on Friday evenings. Call +1-305-307-5413 for reservations, or visit the webpage. Finally, valet parking is complimentary with every meal.

27 Restaurant & Bar

Our second option- just as wonderful- is 27 Restaurant & Bar, a restaurant located in a historic house adjacent to the courtyard at the corner of 28th Street and Indian Creek drive, making it no more than a few blocks away from popular destinations such as the Miami Beach Convention Center, Ocean Drive, and Lincoln Road Mall. What makes 27 so special is its welcoming communal atmosphere and the creative spirit of a modern-day salon. One of the things that make 27 a special place is their handcrafted design by Roman & Williams, as well as their collaboration with the award-winning duo behind Bar Lab to create the inventive cocktails, tasty food, and warm atmosphere of both, the bar and the restaurant.

Once again, this restaurant pays homage to the diversity of Miami and its melting pot of flavors and cultures, with the freshest local ingredients and highest-quality produce available, such as fresh fish, shellfish, choice meats, and local produce – much of it frown on the property’s onsite garden. 27 offers Bruch and Dinner menus, which you can find here. In the same link you can make your reservations for parties of nine people and under. Parties of more than 10 people require a reservation and will be subject to a group dinner menu. To find more information, or inquire about group bookings or special events, email 27@thefreehand.com (You might have to wait from 24-48 hours for a team member to respond).

What More Options?

A few other restaurants that we know have received great feedback and recommendations from groups are  Barton G. The Restaurant, The Bazaar by Jose Andres and why not try our very own Barok?

The Closest Outlets to South Beach Miami

There are a lot of fun things to do while in Miami, but with luxury designers boutiques, outlets malls, and thrift shops, shopping seems like the obvious choice! If you want to shop near your hotel in South Beach then Lincoln Road Mall could very well be what you need. Don’t expect stores here to be cheap, yet unlike in many other places it is rather common in Miami to find a $5 dollar store next to a couture boutique, making it a little bit harder for the inexperienced shopper to find what you’re  looking for. Luckily, whether you’re on the hunt for clothing, gifts, or designers clothes, we know which are the closest outlets to South Beach (Miami) that will give you the best bang for your buck. Our top two outlet malls are: Dolphin Mall and Sawgrass Mills.

Dolphin Mall

Dolphin Mall is the largest outlet mall in Miami-Dade County, with an offer of more than 240 stores, as well as  diverse entertainment options and a food court. A few of the restaurants in the mall are: The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and Texas de Brazil Churrascaria, among others. Dolphin Mall brings you the finest fashion, including stores not found anywhere else in the county, such as Bloomingdale’s The Outlet Store, Coach Factory Store, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, to name just a few. Where is it?This outlet mall is located on 11401 NW 12th Street, just five miles west of Miami International Airport, and can be accessed directly from Florida Turnpike’s Exit 27, and the mall is open from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM.

Dolphin Mall is divided into three sections, to fully reflect Miami’s rich, multicultural heritage:

  • Ramblas (Walk) – A lively village square full of exciting restaurants and entertainment venues.
  • Playa (Beach) – South Beach-style shopping for casual apparel, accessories and charming home decor.
  • Moda (Style) – This is the fashion district of the mall, where you can find all the chic boutiques and hip outlets.

Here you can find a map of the mall, as well as all the stores and restaurants available.

Sawgrass Mills

Our second favorite is Sawgrass Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the United States, located about 30 miles north of Miami in Sunrise, just 30 minutes from Miami International Airport and 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Not only it is close to the airport- it also offers transportation to and from select Miami and Fort Lauderdale Hotels via the Sawgrass Mills Shuttle for only $30 per person from Miami, and $25 from FLL. Here you can find more information about it.

Sawgrass Mills has more than 350 name-brand outlet and off-price retail stores, such as Jimmy Choo, Gucci, La Perla and Kate Spade New York with discounts of 40 to 60 perfect off! Sawgrass Mills is truly a unique opportunity, which many visitors take to experience budget shopping at its biggest and best. Sawgrass Mills not only has clothing stores, as it has everything, from fashion and jewelry to electronics, sporting equipment, home accessories, toys, and more.  The mall opens from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM from Monday to Saturday, and on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

If you want to spend time shopping for bargains while in Miami, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit these two fantastic outlet stores, where you can find anything you want at more affordable prices!

The Cheapest Transportation from South Beach to Fort Lauderdale: Shuttles, Taxis and All You Want to Know

Fort Lauderdale Beach (FLL) is one of the largest cities in Florida, known for its beaches and extensive network of canals. It is often referred to as the “Venice of America” and is a must visit destination if you are in South Beach! South Beach is only 37 miles away from FLL, and there are multiple ways to get to FLL: shuttles, taxis, buses, train… However, navigating Florida can be difficult, especially for the uninitiated one, and you can encounter different surprises (including the not-good kind!). Luckily for you we have narrowed them all to the three fastest, easiest and most efficient options that will save you the trouble and get you on your way.

By Train: Try the Tri-Rail

Begin by checking out the Tri-Rail commuter public train , which can take you not only to FLL, but also to Hollywood and other destinations in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Their website http://www.tri-rail.com/fares/fare-calculator/ allows you to check all the departures and arrival times of the route you wish to take, as well as allowing you to get a fare estimate either as a one way trip or as a round trip. The page also provides you with a useful map where you can find all the stops the Tri-Rail offers, to make it easier for you to spot which one is the closest to you.

Share a Taxi

Now, taxis can sometimes be more comfortable than a public train, which leads us to our second favorite option: A normal taxi from FLL (airport) will charge you about $67-$72 for the 30-mile trip to Miami, however, cabs accept up to five people at no additional charge, which means you can travel with your friends and split the fee, or you can get with some other people who are going to the same place and split the fee, making your trip less expensive and still comfortable. Want to know the approximate cost of your trip anywhere? Check out www.taxifarefinder.com and you’re set!

How About a Shuttle?

Our third option is Go Airport Shuttle,  a shared van that leaves from/to FLL Airport. With Go Airport Shuttle you can expect to pay about $21-$23 to Miami, or $11-$19 to destinations in Fort Lauderdale from FLL. They also offer luxury sedan transportation for up to four people, which makes it a way better option, or you can choose the private car/SUB option, with no need for reservation. All you have to do is locate one of their Customer Service Representatives at the airport (they wear white shirt with “GO Airport Shuttle” in green on the back), you just have to let them know your destination and what service you are interested in and you’ll receive immediate assistance. Visit their webpage https://www.go-airportshuttle.com where you can find more detailed information of the services they offer, as well as the prices ranges of the different options, and to book the taxi service so there will be a car waiting for you the moment you get off the plane!

One Way Car Rental

As simple as it sounds, perhaps you might just want to rent a car one way just to get to South Beach. Public transportation from South Beach to Fort Lauderdale is not as convenient as one might think so perhaps renting a car for the day could be the answer to your problem. You should be able to get one for around 35 USD/day and another 4 USD in gas. You might need to get a taxi from the car drop off location to your destination unless you’re going to the airport, but it would be the easiest way.

The Cheapest Option (but it takes time)

You can always take a bus from South Beach to MIA, then the Tri-Rail to FLL and then a bus into town if you’re looking to be frugal. It is cheap, but as we mentioned before, it will take a long time.

What Do We Recommend?

If you can, your best bet is to share a taxi . It will save you money, take less time, and you’ll get to meet other travelers along the way!  We want to help our guests enjoy their stay at our boutique hotel in South Beach , and helping you find the cheapest transportation from South Beach to Fort Lauderdale airport or town is just another way we make them enjoy their stay.
