Within Genres at the Perez Art Museum
From July 1 through to the end of August, the Perez Art Museum will be putting on an exhibition that spans five genres. The ‘Within Genres’ exhibition will highlight work in still life, portraiture, landscape, scenes from everyday life and history pieces. Entry is $16 per head. America’s Birthday Bash
Celebrate this 4th of July at America’s Birthday Bash. The party starts mid-afternoon on July 4, with drinks and food available. The event is family friendly, and will include a kids’ zone to keep the little ones occupied. Don’t miss the 9pm fireworks.
Two days after America’s birthday, synthpop legends Erasure will be hitting Miami as part of their World Beyond Tour. The event starts at 8.30pm on Friday, July 6. Ticket prices vary considerably, so check the official site for all the details.
Overtown Music and Arts Festival
Just across from South Beach, the community of Overtown celebrates local culture and development during its annual Music and Arts Festival. This year, Overtown invites visitors to check out the best of local talent on July 14, with live music, art and food. The community’s best restaurants will be offering a wide variety of international foods, while activities will also be available for the kids. Best of all, entry is free!

International Mango Festival
Who doesn’t love mangoes? For two days over July 14-15, the Fairchild Tropical Garden will be putting on its 26th annual International Mango Festival. Along with the world’s largest display of mangoes, the festival will also feature tastings, food demos, kid’s activities and lectures on the humble mango. Plus, don’t miss Mangoville, a market featuring everything mango-related, including, or course, plenty of mangoes. General admission is $25, though the event is free for garden members. Miami Swim Week
One of Miami’s biggest fashion events of the year, Swim Week celebrates all things swimwear from July 14 to 17. The main event of the week is SwimShow 2018, a trade fair that brings the most cutting edge swimwear and resortwear to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Find out more here.
International Ballet Festival
Need a bit of high class? More than 200 performers from 20 international ballet companies will descend on Miami this July 28 through to August 19. Performances will be taking place at numerous locations across Miami, so check out the official site for all the details.
Summer Butterfly Walk
On July 28, the Deering Estate will be offering visitors the chance to explore a verdant tropical preserve on a beautiful stretch of Biscayne Bay – all in search of butterflies! The Summer Butterfly Walk is a great opportunity to see rare species of butterflies that gather here every year. Adult admission is $12, with daily tours running from 11am to 12pm. Find out more here.
